Mirror, Mirror- Women, Body Image & Self Hypnosis was “Eye-Opening”

By | Uncategorized | No Comments

An intimate group of 7 women gathered together, November 15, 2014, for a day of Self Awareness and Empowerment. The focus of the workshop was how women see a distortion in the mirror based on prescribed concepts of society, the media and their own personal history. How diet and exercise as channels for the “Ideal Body” have created a backlash. How eating disorders have plagued women for more than 4 decades. Self hypnosis was introduced as a catalyst to reaching a more positive and more calming self image.

Central themes of the day were how to be the best versions of ourselves, see our personal worthiness and beauty from the inside out. How the definition of beauty has changed over history. How fairytales and Barbie Dolls distort a “normal” female body image and how the “fair maiden” always needs to be rescued by “prince charming” and of course, that they live happily ever after. How the “Ugly Duckling” fable has both positive and negative messages.

How distortions of realty are myths that we grow up with form early childhood, when all is real before the age of 7.  How our “scripts” and personal beliefs are set at such a young age and stay with us, often helping us to stay “stuck” in negative emotions and limiting decisions on our potential.

How today’s society is obsessed with outer beauty.  The TED Talk- “Looks Aren’t Everything” – Cameron Russell’s personal experience- as a model, created a bridge for discussion, demystifying what we see throughout the media as real.  That all is a distortion and just a perception of reality.  And that with all their image of beauty, models are often insecure as well.

Reaching the Unconscious Mind is so powerful  and so accessible.  90% of our brain functioning is in the Unconscious Mind and through Hypnosis, so many barriers for positive change and personal growth can be accessed and overcome.

In a relaxed and soothing setting, with a dynamic visual presentation, introspective exercises and an introduction to hypnosis history and techniques, all became relaxed and entered the peaceful state of Trance.  All were engaged and felt calm and empowered with a greater sense of self. All felt they will sleep better and gained a stronger sense of self after this experience.

Here are some comments which describe the women’s experiences.

“This was my first workshop.  I have discovered more about myself.  SelfHypnosis was quite a wonderful experience. I am open to other workshops in he future.

Thank you Dina, for a wonderful day and eye opening experience. What extraordinary body and mind we possess.  The right steps could take us to the most fantastic, destinations. It was quite a memorable day!” – Rosanna Grande

“Insightful. Powerful and a true eye opener.  Dina gets to the heart of women’s thoughts and teaches it in a way everyone can understand and benefit.”- Sherri Newman

“I have gained so much by attending this workshop.  I was able to connect with my unconscious mind, learn to relax, and understand myself in a clearer way. This workshop has given me confidence to see myself in a positive light and to create a better future for myself.  I leave this workshop empowered, confident and focused- on myself, my life and my surroundings.” – Miriam Newman

“Thank You Very much Dina! “ I Learned a lot and now I would like to learn how to bring out good vibes and positive relations with people.” Anne Marie Auger

“Dina was professional, dynamic, well organized and very knowledgeable on today’s topic- “Women, Body Image & Self Hypnosis”. I endorse Dian’s skills and encourage women of all ages to attend. – Glenda Falovitch

“The workshop “Mirror, Mirror” focuses on inner and outer beauty and how as women we’ve been programmed to perceive beauty the way society has depicted it for us.

In addition to learning about women’s perceptions, we learned about how we have the ability to change our own perception. This can be done by becoming in touch with your unconscious mind and open to the concept of hypnosis. The thought of hypnosis was always intimidating to me, but after this experience I realized that there is nothing to be fearful of, but rather to be more open to tapping into your unconscious mind .

The overall experience was very interesting and engaging.  I can certainly walk away from this workshop with some new findings and more in touch with my inner self. It has definitely allowed me to clear my thoughts, the focus and fog in my mind. I finally felt I could see the silver ling, gain some perspective and continue on my current path which is certainly in the right direction.

Dina has been inspirational to me and incredibly passionate about her workshop, and it translated in the room. I have learned a great deal. A true mentor, an inspiring woman and qualified.  Thank You Dina”-  Amanda Ferri

I close with a significant message to all from a man’s perspective.

“There is nothing more rare, nor more beautiful, than a woman being unapologetically herself; comfortable in her perfect imperfection. To me, that is the true essence of beauty.” ― Steve Maraboli

Complimentary Seminar Sept 11th was a Great Success!

By | Uncategorized | No Comments

The evening was an overview to introduce FOCUS+CHANGE and spark a curiosity in learning how we can gain energy, focus and perspectives that can change the way we see ourselves, our world and the people in our world. To have a greater understanding.

40 people gathered together at the Best Western Hotel Ville-Marie Salon Mont Royal II, for an experiential evening that left them feeling energized and optimistic about change. After a brief introduction I took the audience on a journey of discovery to explore how to find new focus and create positive change. That we all have what we are looking for within ourselves  regarding change. There was an atmosphere of curiosity and interest in learning.

Questions and Reflections were offered:

-Would you like to be the best that you can be? Would you like to change the things that block you from moving forward?  Do things differently? Find the difference that makes the difference in getting what you want you out of life? A greater sense of well being and improve your quality of life?

Change is an inevitable thing. We are always changing. Things never really stay the same.  Change can be a simple and quick process or a difficult one. Changing perspectives, making different choices, reacting differently is a great option, isn’t it? Learning new ways to have more positive results.

People were intrigued with the following information. Communication is:

55% Body Language, 38% voice- tone, pitch, volume, timber etc- Only 7% words.

With the popular use of text and email for communication, both body language and voice are eliminated, leaving a very small % for effective communication and leading to a great possibility for misunderstanding. The art of conversation and face en face interaction being lost as a result.

With the use of a power point and story telling, the audience was engaged. They learned how to create instant rapport,  participated in energy work, focus techniques and exercises. A fun time was had by all.

Oprah’s August Edition Of the O Magazine was used as a catalyst to introduce the concept of the Breakthrough. An opportunity to breakthrough the barriers that keep us stuck and prevent us from moving forward.  As a live  demo, I shared a video of my experience with my own breakthrough- as part of my training.  Using the power of my own energy field, combined with the energy of the group of 18,  I broke a wood board with my own hand. A most empowering moment! Exhilarating to say the least! Stunned by my own power!

The Individual Breakthrough Process follows a template specifically designed for learning new ways to  live life with greater satisfaction. I offer this as a package of 10 individual sessions, as part of an A LA Carte Express custom design service.

Services I offer and the Fall Line Up Of Workshops were described with a fun demo on how the pendulum relates to our unconscious mind with an introduction to  A Hypnosis Weekend as an exciting upcoming special event.  A Q & A period followed.

The evening ended with cocktails and mingling and all are looking forward to the Fall Line Up of Workshops.

Feedback was positive :

Thank you for your authentic self and desire to help others”

“Very interesting and enriching.” ” Refreshing!” “Perception is Projection- WOW!”

“l like playing with energy! Feeling it! And the physical exercise- bringing into the body. Loved it!”

“Felt powerful and energized!”

“The information seminar was very inspiring and constructive for me; I was very pleased to have had the opportunity to find out more regarding the techniques available through Dina.

Thank you Dina, the information was valuable.”   Linda

The Quantum Leap!

By | Uncategorized | No Comments

My career path has led me through a variety of experiences over a period of 40+ years. FOCUS & CHANGE INTERNATIONAL is a new venture that is an extension and integration of my many years of work experience, professional development and learning. It was an idea that grew out of a recent dynamic learning experience.

I learned a new skill set that makes it possible to see things differently and experience perspectives in a new way: our conscious mind only offers a minutia of resources. The untapped unconscious mind has a well of resources for strength, resiliency and learning. There are processes to get out of negativity and dig deep in a rich and positive way.

In his book The Seven Spiritual Laws Of Success, Deepak Chopra discusses the basic tenants that describe presuppositions and processes that are also present in my recent work. It’s an easy read (described by the publisher as “one hour of wisdom”) and offers a life-altering perspective on attaining success.

Chopra describes a process of transformation:

  1. The Law of Pure Potentiality – Success in life depends on knowing who we really are. Self Power is True Power. Practice Non-Judgement.
  2. The Law of Giving and Receiving – Experiencing gratitude. The more you give, the more you receive. Abundance has material expression circulating in our lives, in our thoughts and our thoughts have the power to transform.
  3. The Law of Karma or Cause and Effect – Karma is about action and the consequence of action. “What you sow is what you reap.”
  4. The Law of Least Effort – Follows the natural flow of nature’s intelligence. Do less and accomplish more.
  5. The Law of Intention and Desire – Our intentions and desires have infinite organizing powers for us to achieve what we want.
  6. The Law of Detachment – To attain what we want, we need to relinquish control over the outcome.
  7. The Law of Dharma or Purpose of Life – Each one of us has special needs and a uniqueness to offer others.

These are simple and powerful principles that can make all the difference and can help to transform your life. I have lived and worked with the process of change and the challenge of human nature’s resistance to change, both personally and professionally.  Change can be scary and exciting at the same time, depending on the circumstances and the proportions. I have always enjoyed change, perhaps needing new challenges  to keep me expanding. These new learnings echo Chopra’s Seven Spiritual Laws of Success! My recent experience has felt like a quantum leap!  My curiosity and interest to expand my world has taken off with an energy force I have never experienced before! I am very focused and want to share this exhilaration and energy force!

This process has inspired me to offer workshops for women in conversation. The next workshop is THE WOMEN’S ROOM: REFLECT AND RECLAIM on May 31 – A wonderful day of challenging ourselves to work on balancing Work, Love and Play. REGISTRATION IS ON NOW!
